-RUM POINT- |
|
The beach itself usually has NO waves, always clear water and often times when it is raining (or predicted to) on 7 Mile Beach--the sun is shining in Rum Point.
The Rum Point restaurant reopened in December 2008. The grill food is great, the beverages cold, plenty of seating, hammocks, lounge chaises and picnic tables-- and lastly; it offers shallow water & white sand barefoot beach for the kids- If it is windy on the Northside or East End-- it is probably calmer here. Rum Point gets VERY busy on Sundays with locals bringing their boats over for the day. You might skip Sunday afternoons. The fine dining restaurant is open Tuesdays - Saturdays. Please make reservations - 345-947-9412 ("J.B" or Carol)
The Aerial view to the left shows the waves breaking on the reef just off Rum Point. The bright blue water indicates white sand bottom and the darker spots the coral heads and snorkeling spots. You can hire the Cayman Helicopter Pilot (Jerome) to take you up for this view in person!
